Wisconsin Women in Sustainability (WIS)

Wisconsin Women in Sustainability (WIS) started back in 2013 from a desire among the women on our Advisory Board to create a dedicated space for connection, collaboration, and support within the sustainability field.

About WIS

WIS is a dynamic network of professional women working to advance social and environmental sustainability while fostering inclusivity and professional growth across Wisconsin. Through shared experiences, mentorship, and community engagement, WIS provides a platform for learning and collaboration.

WIS Values:

  • Professional development and Mentorship

  • Networking and Collaboration

  • Inclusivity to all who are working towards sustainable outcomes

  • Work-life balance

  • Personal and Environmental Wellness

  • Reflection and celebration

How We Engage

WIS facilitates knowledge-sharing and community building through:

  • A Google listserv where members exchange best practices, challenges, opportunities, and lessons learned.

  • Educational and networking events hosted independently and in collaboration with like-minded organizations.

  • A volunteer-run model that ensures an inclusive, supportive space open to all.
